The Sun Will Rise

A VIRTUAL ART SHOW BY EDGAR MEDINA

ABOUT THE COLLECTION

As uncertainty began to fill our communities with the current spread of COVID-19, contemporary artist Edgar Medina started to search for opportunities that he could do to provide some help. Anchoring himself in his studio, he continued his work on creating new works of art. After a few pieces, he realized that his love of bold and vibrant colors bring him personal joy from day to day, and maybe he could share some small moments with the world.

Since then, Edgar has focused on creating a new collection that stems from the spirit of joy and hope. This collection combines some nods to some of his well-known series, but also includes new explorations to see.

“While limited on the direct ways I can assist in times like this, I hope my passion can translate a moment of joy into those this collection reaches.” -Edgar Medina

All works in the collection are available for purchase, and a portion of proceeds will go to benefit a charity in need related to the pandemic.

50% of proceeds will go to support the charity of your choice.

Edgar Medina is a Houston, TX-based artist best known for his collections of vibrant abstract and mixed media paintings. In 2009, Edgar decided to peruse his artist passion full time and has been fortunate to have developed collectors internationally.

His passion for art stems from his youth. Born in a small town in Mexico, Edgar spent much of his childhood indoors due to medical issues, where he found a love for art and painting. At an early age, his imagination went wild in exploring color through his artistic expressions and the influence of his vibrant Mexican heritage.

Edgar is a self-taught artist. His abilities stem from his continued interest in new materials that allow him to capture the natural inspirations he finds in his daily life. His works are continually evolving both in his artistic expressions and the mediums he incorporates into his work.

Staying true to his local roots, Edgar Medina operates out his ] studio in Montrose. Honored by the support of his community, he continues to find ways to partner with local charities to assist in fundraising and community outreach efforts. Edgar’s work can often be found at many local art shows and has been featured in fairs nationally including Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami, and Santa Fe.
