After the Horizon
After the Horizon is Edgar Medina's newest series of large-scale contemporary abstract paintings, drawn from remembered landscapes and the fragments of water, light, color, texture, and movement that stayed with him after traveling. Rather than depicting a single place, each work holds space for the viewer's own memories to enter the story. The series debuted at Art Santa Fe in 2026.
A MARDI GRAS EXPERIENCE
Collaborating with Mardi Gras Galveston 2024, Edgar has been commissioned to celebrate the event's 113th anniversary. This unique creation, a mixed media work, fuses recycled beads into the artwork, encapsulating the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras.

Edgar Medina is a local Houston artist that specializes in abstract and mixed media paintings on canvas. He has been exploring his artistic passion for over ten years and has showcased his work at art fairs around the country.
